DedicationThis little book of prose was conjured up on sweet wings of love. I dedicate this work to Sharon, my lover and wife of 34 years. You were the sun in my life and still are. I miss you darling. To Carol, Kent and Bradley, our children, I say, thank you. You made your mom and I proud by the way you conducted yourselves in everything you did over the years. You are still making us proud today. To those few lovers I have met during my life who always made time when I needed them, and were unafraid to reach out when they needed me, thank you for the memories. I hope we can make more of them someday. To all the lovers I have not yet met, I know you're out there. I wish I had the time to visit each of you. Perhaps someday in our dreams we will meet. For lovers, life is an eternity.
It seems fitting this poem be the first, even though it's not by me. It was written by Carol many years ago after her mom passed on to a place where we all know we'll be together again some day. You give me a sense of prideYou shine like a beacon in the darkness of night To guide me through my deepest fears. Your laughter is the music I most wish to hear. You are a pilar of strength, even now that you've gone, Because your loving spirit will always live on. The courage you've shown is what guides me though The difficult days when I cry for you. Your smile was warm sunshine that brightened my day, Your friendship, even now, is not far away. I will cherish the memories that I have of you, And I prey in my heart that you cherish them too. Though I'm not good with words and my feelings don't show, Our souls are one, this we both know. I just want you to know in my heart, you're not gone, Because in each one of us you touched, your spirit lives on. You were much more than my mother through all these years, You were my best friend and in my heart, you will always be here.
