Limited edtion canvas Giclees
During the next two years we are borrowing back a few of the more than 1200 paintings I have painted to produce limited edition Giclees to raise funding for the Art & Science project. In addition we will soon introduce limited editions of some of my fine art photography and digital collages. Please see the page What is Original? for an explanation of each.Publishing detailsGiclee (pronounced Gee'clay) is a French term meaning to spray. In order to guarantee the quality of the finished canvases we print our Giclees on the latest professional, wide format printers. The original paintings will be completed as John travels throughout Western Canada. The new ink sets of the current wide format Giclee printers provide the ultimate fine art printing technology available today. When printed on the Bulldog Aqua Dot water resistant satin canvas we use, the manufacturer and third-party testing labs report that print permanence ratings are up to 200 years for colour and 200+ years for black and white.
The Epson Stylus Pro shown here as well as the HP DesignJet are the professional printers we use. Each print includes a Certificate of Authenticity that describes the edition size, number of artist's proofs, year of printing, printing process, ink, type of paper, light fastness, etc. According to independent testing labs these prints should last up to 200 years and longer under normal viewing conditions.
