In this gallery you will find beautiful night shots of flowers, some exotic and some native. The night is a time of shadows and little people. A dragon fly becomes a fairy. A shadow takes on the form of a sasquatch. Sneak up on a bull frog at night and it becomes a dinosaur. Flowers become powerful symbols of beauty, peace and grace. When I was growing up in Southern Manitoba I used to go out to the fields and sloughs around town and marvel at all the life I found. During daylight hours I took my microscope to look at slough water and a whole new world I had never seen before. During the nighttime I used to sit quietly for hours and listen. Just listen. In addition to the wildlife and the wind in the trees I could almost hear the many wildflowers closing up for the night. I used to sit and watch these things. Even at that young age I realized somehow that these were the important things to take note of. I didn't know at the time but this was a much better education and preparation for my world today than were the classes I attended earlier in the day. This series of night shots speak of such things with a sense of privacy you will not find in the daylight. I love flowers. And I love the night.
